The following timeline and key dates outlines important due dates related to the annual school enrollment process which begins in the fall each year.
NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2021
- November 20: Virtual Enrollment and Recruitment Season Kick-off
- School Request Portal opens – Enrollment Department begins accepting requests: ExploreMPS.org
- Student Enrollment Team working with families answering questions and providing guidance
- Enrollment team present at school and community events; informing, recruiting, and engaging
DECEMBER 2021 – JANUARY 2022
- Time for parents to gather information, learn about options
- All schools host virtual tours and open houses
- Elementary Schools offer tours and information sharing events
- Middle and High Schools hold Recruitment Open Houses
FEBRUARY – MARCH 2022
- February 7: Due-date for inclusion in the first school request lottery
- Mid-February: First request lottery
- Late February/Early March: Schools have access to lists of newly placed students
- Early March: Placement notification letters will be emailed and mailed
- Parents can complete online registration for their new school
APRIL 2022
- April 1: Kindergarten Early Admission deadline
- April 4: Due-date for inclusion in the second school request lottery
LATE SPRING / EARLY SUMMER 2022
- Schools hold welcome events
- Parents continue completing school registration online or at their child’s new school
LATE SUMMER 2022
- Bus stop postcards mailed
- High School Registration
